For this year’s autumn, we’ll host a very special workshop about sensory analysis with Brewers Cup Champion & Cuptasting runner-up June Simon.
What is the difference between fragrance & aroma?
How do I taste and describe my coffee correctly?
And what is this mouthfeel?
Our sensory perception is something very personal and yet we all have a lot in common. This course is aimed at anyone who wants to sharpen their sensory skills, learn professional vocabulary and get tips and tricks for practicing at home. Together we will go through the basics of sensory awareness and learn how to sensitize our senses in everyday life through many practical and fun exercises.
At the end of the course, we will apply what we have learned in a professional coffee tasting. Through lots of fun exercises, we will get to know our senses and the world of sensory perception better. At the end of the workshop, you can win a frozen coffee box from us in a small coffee tasting competition.
June Simon has been working as a barista trainer for Röststätte Berlin and many other companies for many years. She is the reigning Brewers Cup Champion and Vice-Cuptasting Champion in Germany and was twice among the top 3 at the German Latte Art Championships. In addition to her participation in barista competitions, she works as a quality manager in the coffee sector and has been professionally involved in coffee sensory analysis for many years.
