Gwiza Women Coffee from Rwanda – enjoy with impact!
Drink coffee and empower women in Africa? You can do just that with our Women Coffee! This special lot comes from the Abadatezuka cooperative and is produced exclusively by women. In addition to a quality premium, the women farmers receive additional support for economic independence. The women of the Gwiza Group grow their coffee in the region near Lake Kivu at an altitude of up to 2,200 meters. The ripe coffee cherries are carefully sorted and dried on raised beds to ensure the highest quality. A special highlight: wild honeybees from the Nyungwe forest contribute to the unique taste profile through pollination. Look forward to a coffee that not only tastes exceptional, but also makes a real difference!
Ol'ochoy Farm, Nandi County, Kenya
The family-owned coffee farm is located in the highlands of Western Kenya, more precisely in the Nandi County region (Rift Valley) on Monkey Hill at an altitude of over 1900 meters. Coffee farmer Paul Nian (56) – himself a trained lawyer – works with his family, producing some of the finest microlot specialties in his region on his 30-hectare farm. He grows his Arabica plants using state-of-the-art processing methods and smart farming.

Filter Coffee Duo
The Röststätte filter coffee duo consists of two of our most popular filter coffees in the range: Gwiza Women and Olochoy AB – a real highlight in your favorite cup. Gently roasted, the two filter coffee roasts are ideal for preparation with the Hario V60, the French Press, the AeroPress or the filter coffee machine. You can now try both filter coffee roasts in a set and get them at a discounted price.
About the filter coffees
Back in the range again this year, Paul Nian's AB Microlot has impressed us all round. Roasted as a filter coffee, the Olochoy has intensely fruity notes of redcurrant, rosehip and delicious cocoa nibs. We also found herbs and grapefruit in the cupping profile. This outstanding coffee has a super clean taste – highly recommended for lovers of washed coffees. Fans of washed coffees from Kenya will love Olochoy, especially as a handbrew.
We are delighted to be sourcing Gwiza Women from Rwanda for the first time - and it is only our second coffee from this fascinating coffee-growing country. Roasted as a filter coffee, you can expect intense notes of delicious vanilla, sweet cranberry and red currant - an addictive taste experience. And the aroma of blooming... a ritual that you will want to repeat, especially when brewing filter coffee. When cupping, we also discovered aromas of cashew nuts and caramel. The highlight: this coffee is grown by women farmers in Rwanda - with every cup you support their work and contribute to greater economic independence. Enjoyment with an impact!

Sustainable cultivation and quality awareness
Similar to wine, the origin, cultivation and careful harvesting also form the basis for a specialty coffee. For our coffees, we use only ripe and hand-picked 100% Arabica coffee beans, because the elaborate harvest by hand is an essential quality criterion. Our highland coffees are natural products and are grown in shady forest gardens in a nature-friendly way. This preserves the biodiversity in the growing region. The coffee cherries can ripen slowly at cool altitudes with nourishing and fertile soil conditions. The coffee plants have more time to develop their characteristic and fruity aromas under these optimal climatic conditions near the equator.
Freshly roasted by hand
All Röststätte coffees are gently roasted by hand in Berlin so that the natural flavors can fully develop without unwanted acids. For a pronounced body and a versatile flavor profile in the cup, we want to emphasize and optimally process the special features of the respective variety, farm and origin of the coffee with our roasting. The aim is to exploit the full potential of the green coffee through our roasting process in order to highlight the valuable work of the producers in the growing countries. These are our quality principles – from source to the final cup.
