Ginger Shakerato
Ginger and espresso harmonize quite beautifully in Nicole's homage to an Italian shakerato. The ginger adds a special kick to this contemporary variant, while a high-quality Arabica coffee rewards the taste with sweetness and complexity.
In its original form, the Shakerato is considered one of the summer refreshment drinks in southern Italy. Ice cubes and espresso are shaken - not stirred - by the barista with charming seriousness and, depending on the guest's taste, sugar is added. The Shakerato is one of those drinks that makes you go straight to romantic memories. Nicole creates with the Ginger Shakerato a novel interpretation of this sweet-bitter classic. A (naturally prepared) double espresso is mixed with homemade ginger sugar and about eight ice cubes. A naturally prepared coffee is particularly well suited here to counter the ginger with a very natural sweetness of the coffee. If you want to expand the taste horizon by a high-proof variant, add 2 bar spoons of juniper spirit. What is then missing is the view of the sea or the piazza.
Ingredients
1 double espresso (100% Arabica, best prepared naturally)
1 teaspoon ginger sugar
8 ice cubes
Garnish: ginger sugar
Glass: Tumbler
Die Zutaten werden mit viel Eiswürfeln in einen Mixer gegeben und aufgemixt bis eine Softeis-ähnliche Konsistenz erreicht ist. Cheers!
