How Coffee Week 2024 went for us
Berlin got a hefty dose of caffeine at Berlin Coffee Week - and even more than that. Brewing battles, cuppings and numerous curious visitors: Berlin Coffee Week took place for the second time. We were right in the middle of it with a total of five events that were really well attended. We received the Coffee Week Award in the category for (Your) Favorite Coffee Shop in Berlin.
Coffee lovers had been waiting a long time for this, and now it finally took place again: Berlin Coffee Week. Cupping challenges, brewing with Berlin's best baristas or the Frozen Coffee Bar - with numerous interesting events throughout Berlin on the subject of Third Wave coffee, there was something for everyone. We also had a lot to offer at Berlin Coffee Week (September 30 to October 6, 2024) and over 150 visitors came to our four events.
The highlight: Grind & Glory
Accurate hand movements, good coffee, excited looks: our Barista Battle for Coffee Week was a complete success. In the end, David Rozali took home the coveted Mahlkönig X54 coffee grinder. He impressed the judges Simone König (Cafe Imports Europe), Anna Sokolova (SCA Ukraine) and Vlad Demonenko (Kolo Coffee) with his brewing skills. And this is how it went: all ten participants received the same Mystery Coffee (roasted by Cafe Imports Europe) and used the same grinder (Mahlkönig EK Omnia) for their filter coffee, which they prepared for the jury. There was also plenty of coffee fun for the spectators at the battle: Delicious coffee drinks and a mystery cup tasting – where all guests were allowed to guess the correct countries of origin.
We were voted “Favorite Coffee Shop”
We received a special honor: we were voted “Favorite Coffee Shop” in the public voting. On the evening of October 7 (Saturday), we accepted the award at the AchtBerlin cultural center in Schönhauser Allee. On behalf of our entire team, we would like to thank you for every single vote! We will continue to celebrate our love of coffee with you every day in the future.
The other events
Our Frozen Coffee Bar, where our roaster Valeria Kutuzova prepared rarities from our freezer, was particularly popular this year. Numerous coffee enthusiasts came and had their coffee brewed, and some of them bought our Frozen Coffee Box afterwards. The Kolo Coffee pop-up in Hackesche Höfe was booked out to the last seat. Here, the young founder Vlad Demonenko (27) served unusual coffees from all over the world.
Thank you very much to everyone!
